Bush Medicine's Evolution in History

For millennia, Aboriginal people have relied on native plants as a customary source of medicine. Understanding and
appreciating Aboriginal culture depends much on this old habit.

Aboriginal wellness is predicated on the conviction that the body is inextricably linked to the ground and that repairing the relationship between the two will help to restore health. Considered as gifts from the earth, plants help to support a great spectrum of bodily and spiritual situations.

Inspired by this age-old custom, My Outback Bush Soaps product range is designed to help both physical and spiritual healing, our handcrafted products are made using conventional techniques and materials.

Our bush is always fresh and collect it from country. We think that developing good health and wellness results depends on our relationship to the ground.

Our items are created with love and care; thus, we hope they will enable you to relate with your own inner healing ability.

First Nations people are dedicated in sharing our traditional knowledge with the world. We think that among tools for health and vitality, our items are rather effective.

Being part of a rich Aboriginal culture makes us proud, and we are dedicated to continue it for next generations.

We hope you will travel with us towards all-embracing wellness and healing promotion.

We create high-quality, natural products designed to support healthy, nourished skin while connecting you to the power of Aboriginal bush medicine.

Important Note

No Australian indigenous bush medicine business has ever successfully registered their products under the Therapeutic Goods Act. Our business and livelihoods matter and we want to see this change.

Founder’s Story

Our Healing, Our Way

I’m Wandidmore, a proud Pitta Pitta, Wangkamahdla, Kaanju and Kaytetye woman — and the owner of My Outback Bush Soaps Co.

I was born in Cloncurry and grew up in Mount Isa, surrounded by the strength of my family and the stories carried through Country. My grandmother was born in Bedourie on Wangkamahdla Country and grew up in Boulia (Pitta Pitta Country) and Dajarra. She later met my grandfather — born at Barrow Creek in the Northern Territory — while they were both out droving cattle. Together, they made a home in Cloncurry and raised nine children.

On my father’s side, my Kaanju heritage comes through his family line. He was born in Normanton, raised on the droving and railway scene, and eventually met my mother in Cloncurry — bringing our stories together.

Making soaps with Aboriginal bush medicines is something I’ve always been passionate about. Sharing our healing knowledge, our plants, and our way of caring for skin is a joy and a responsibility. These are medicines everyone — young and old — should have the chance to learn about and experience.

I hope you love these soaps as much as my family does. They’re more than products — they’re pieces of Country, connection, and culture.
